​Jade is a “tough” stone, but it requires specific care to maintain its natural glow and prevent the silk/nylon threads from weakening over time.

​1. The “Last On, First Off” Rule

​Always put your necklace on after applying makeup, perfume, and hairspray. The chemicals in these products can dull the surface of the jade and degrade the internal threading.

​2. Cleaning Your Jade ​Routine: After wearing, simply wipe the beads with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to remove skin oils. ​Deep Clean: Use lukewarm water and a drop of mild, alcohol-free dish soap. Gently wipe with a soft cloth or a very soft toothbrush. ​Avoid: Never use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, or harsh chemicals (like bleach or alcohol), as these can cause internal fractures.
​3. Safe Storage ​Prevent Scratches: Store the necklace in a separate soft fabric pouch or a lined jewelry box. While jade is hard, it can be scratched by harder stones like diamonds or sapphires. ​Lay it Flat: To prevent the strands from stretching out over time, store the necklace lying flat rather than hanging it on a hook.
​4. Environmental Protection ​Heat: Avoid leaving your necklace in direct sunlight or near high heat (like a car dashboard), as extreme temperatures can dry out the stone and cause it to lose its luster.
​Water: Remove the necklace before swimming or showering. Chlorine and saltwater are particularly damaging to both the stone and the string.
